Director Of Operations

Under the responsibility of the VICE-PRESIDENT, the DIRECTOR. OPERATIONS MANAGER is responsible for organizing, structuring and optimizing the various operations of his/her department. He/she leads various improvement projects, identifies performance indicators (KPIs), evaluates their performance and participates in the company’s strategic meetings.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the distribution and production team to maximize efficiency while respecting occupational health and safety rules and company values and procedures;
  • Work closely with sales and purchasing;
  • Develop an action plan, a prevention plan and on-site inspection schedules in order to identify, correct and control all risks that may harm the physical and moral health of our employees;
  • Receive CNESST inspectors and correct derogations within the requested deadlines;
  • Optimize the use of the financial and material resources entrusted to him (payroll, inventory, expense budgets, equipment, building, etc.);
  • Using performance indicators (KPIs) and Lean tools, analyze the performance of activities and implement solutions to reduce costs and improve profitability;
  • Continuously optimize warehouse layout, product flow, and product handling systems for different arrivals and shipments within the required timeframes;
  • Make sure to always be up-to-date with the latest versions of ERP and WWMS;
  • Ensure that the ERP system is properly configured to make the operations of each department even more efficient and provide adequate training to users;
  • Ensure that inventory accuracy is maintained with a monthly and/or annual cyclical counting procedure;
  • Ensure that employees have all the technical, material and human support necessary to carry out their tasks and ensure the implementation of a safe work environment that promotes the achievement of objectives;
  • Inform the relevant teams of any changes in procedures, so that operations can be coordinated;
  • Participate in the development of new procedures, collaborating with sales and purchasing managers, in order to obtain better performance of operations and promote the smooth running of activities;
  • Negotiate costs and conditions of transport;
  • Participate in the development of budgets for his/her sector of activity;
  • Ensure the maintenance of the building and the proper functioning of indoor and outdoor facilities (ventilation, lighting, housekeeping, snow removal, etc.);
  • All other related tasks.

Formation:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations and Logistics Management, Business Administration, or a related field;

Required Experience:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in operations management;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in personnel management.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Proficient in MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor Prophet 21, an asset);
  • Ability to use a WWMS (Epicor Prophet 21, an asset).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare orders according to specifications;
  • Pack products according to Boulons Plus quality standards;
  • Move inventory around the warehouse;
  • Operate stand-up forklifts (Raymond type);
  • Work cleanly and safely;
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

What we look for in an ideal teammate:

  • High school diploma;
  • 1 to 3 years’ similar warehouse experience;
  • Experience with WMS order taking (scan gun);
  • Skill card as a forklift operator combined with 1 year experience driving a stand-up forklift (an asset);
  • Excellent physical condition (ability to work in a standing position and lift loads of up to 90 lbs);
  • Excellent teamwork skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service skills;
  • Good learning and execution skills;
  • Mathematical skills (weights, dimensions, quantities, etc.);
  • Consistent compliance with health and safety regulations.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Salary: $22.00/hr with experience
